It’s baker versus baker in the tastiest and most exciting competition ever to hit local television. Joseph Gandionco, Julie’s Franchise Corporation‘s President and CEO, wants to create a baking show that highlights the students’ dreams, their competitive school spirit in the battle for school pride. The concept was inspired from different reality TV shows like the Master Chef, Cupcake Wars and The Apprentice rolled into one. Thus, the Julie’s Chief Baker project was born.
Thirteen schools in thirteen weeks of heated competition. The competing schools vying for the first Julie’s Chief Baker title are: Asian College of Technology, Benedicto College, Cebu Eastern College, Cebu Institute of Technology University, Cebu Mary Immaculate College, Cebu Technological University Danao and San Francisco Camotes, International School of Hotel and Restaurant Management, Mandaue City College, St. Cecilia’s College, University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu Mandaue, University of Cebu METC SEACAST, and University of Southern Philippines Foundation.
Hosted by my good friend, Jiggy Cerna, the Julie’s Chief Baker show is sure to keep audiences glued as the kneading and baking pave the way for personalities to arise in the kitchen as the competition heats up. There will be three judges. One of them is resident and Head Judge Chef Sean McSavaney of ISCAHM Cebu, the other two are guest judges who love to write/cook/bake/eat food.
What’s at stake for these student bakers?
The winning team will be awarded a kitchen showcase valued at P200,000. Winning team will receive P60,000 and the coach will receive P20,000.
But wait, there’s more. Those watching at home also gets a chance to participate in the Home Partners’ Promo. For every P50 single purchase of Julie’s bread plus Coca Cola or Selecta products, a Home Partner is entitled to a raffle coupon. Simply complete the contact details and answer the “Home Partner’s Question of the Week” for a chance to be one of the ten lucky winners of P15,000 in cash. Five winners will be drawn in 2 raffle draws.
The participating schools also have the chance at additional kitchen showcase worth P100,000. Students simply need to complete a students’ reward card that requires an accumulated P50 worth of Julie’s breads plus Coca Cola or Selecta products. The school with the most number of valid or completed student reward cards wins P100,000 worth of kitchen showcase for their HRM facilities; and participating students in the promo also have a chance to be one of 10 winners of P10,000 cash plus tablet.
